I have a theory...new bars in Rochester start our very popular, but fade out fast. When a new bar opens, people flock to it because this is a boring little town and there is not a lot to do. Once the 'newness' of a bar wears off, then people seem to go back to their old bar and forget about the new one. Case in point is Westfire, they at one point had a line to get in and were charging $4 cover charge and now it is pretty much empty on the weekends. Gilligan's was similar with being very busy and popular but the dance crowds went back to Aquarius and drinkers back to Kathy's.

Beer Bellyz has been open for sometime now and appears to be keeping a pretty good strong hold. It is an easy bar to find, easy to park, easy to leave, and cheap to get a cab ride to most of Rochester. Also, it is a clean bar! The staff does a nice job of cleaning the floors and keeping the place from getting cluttered so the appearance is nice. The wait staff is friendly and come around enough so I don't have to wait forever for a drink. 

Rochester MN is a growing town and I think there is room for a Beer Bellyz to stay on the scene and have a permanent spot on the 'bar hopping roster'.
