Today is officially the first day of Christmas and there were shootings and a trampling today. The tragedy goes so deep on so many levels.

Human Loss of Life.

Human life is the most precious commodity on the earth. Nothing is more tragic than someone dying before they come to the Lord. In my opinion one human life is worth more than an entire species of animal and it breaks my heart to hear of a death and my heart goes out to the families.

Greed.

The commotion, stress, human endeavor, road rage, shoppers rage, and contempt for our fellow man is all done in greed. Greed to get the best deal, greed to buy the coolest gadgets, and greed to consume. We spent $15-$20 billion dollars on stuff today when children starve in other countries and people in our own country go without jobs.

Blasphemy.

You may be asking "What are you talking about?" or "Blashemy...isn't that a website with screen savers?". Well here is my take...all this is done to celebrate our version of Christmas here in the United States. For those who don't know, Christmas is the day that we take to recognise the birth of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We have taken something in his name and turned it into a day that many people act completely ungodly in the name of Christmas. Using his name for something unholy blashemes his name and it ruins your witness as a Christian when you cut off drivers, steal parking spots, and stiff arm people to get the latest "tickle me elmo". Which leads me to the last tragedy.

Hypocrisy.

Just because you didn't kill someone today, ask yourself "Did I keep the 10 commandments today?" I know I didn't all day and I didn't even go shopping. Take a moment and reflect on this and pray on it please.

P.S. Speaking of hypocrisy, please click on the ads on the left of the page and by something from my sponsors.
